Naturi Paper Mache Vase

The Naturi Paper Mache Vase is handcrafted from eco-friendly papier mache and has a chalky, limewash-like texture. Its primitive and curvaceous form is complemented with decorative handles and stands out when layered with other decor accents and objects of differing shapes and finishes. Made from recycled newspapers, they are entirely natural and sustainable. First, the newspaper is mixed with water, and then chalk and tree sap crystals are added to turn the substance into a clay-like material. The pulp is kneaded into chapati-like forms, then rolled and moulded into the sculptural objects we love. There is no firing, no power used, and the process is entirely eco-friendly. Each piece will have subtle differences in finish and these variations are part of the handmade appeal. Porous in nature, papier mache should not be exposed to liquids.
